CL3 Firmware V1.70-2 (Previous version)
Important Notice
Although power management should be negotiated automatically in switches that support EEE, some switches do not perform the negotiation properly. This may cause EEE to be enabled in Dante networks when it is not appropriate, resulting in poor synchronization performance and occasional dropouts.
Therefore we strongly recommend that:
1. If you use managed switches, ensure that they allow EEE to be disabled. Make sure that EEE is disabled on all ports used for real-time Dante traffic.
2. If you use unmanaged switches, make sure to not use network switches that support the EEE function, since EEE operation cannot be disabled in these switches.
* EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) is a technology that reduces switch power consumption during periods of low network traffic. It is also known as Green Ethernet and IEEE802.3az.
You need to update the Dante-MY16-AUD firmware to V3.3.9 or later before using the Dante-MY16-AUD with the CL series firmware V1.51.
Dante Firmware Update Manager v1.4.5.7 included in zip files for CL/R series firmware V1.70 does not support Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Please use Mac OS X 10.7.5, 10.8.5 or 10.9. Or use Windows XP, 7 or 8.
CL/QL/RIVAGE/R/Tio Series Editor/Firmware/R Remote Compatibility
Please make sure to use appropriate version of CL Editor or QL Editor which is compatible with your console firmware in reference to the following compatibility chart. Using an unsupported Editor/firmware combination may result in unexpected behavior.
The Firmware Set is a set of main (and sub) firmware of the device and the Dante firmware. The version of Firmware Set is the same as the version of the main firmware. Refer to the release note of each firmware about the details of the Firmware Set.
Main Revisions and Enhancements
- The Scene Memories, Libraries and Setup settings of a CL-series unit can now be saved/loaded individually from a USB flash drive.
- When switching input patches, you can now choose whether the HA settings of the patched ports continue to be used or the HA settings of the channels are copied to the ports.
- Sends from an input channel to a bus whose send point is set to PRE can now be assigned to be muted by a DCA group.
- Extra Metering points have been added to the METER screen.
- Functions have been added to the GAIN/PAN/ASSIGN knob (assignable encoder) when in SENDS ON FADER mode.
- In the GAIN/PATCH field of the SELECTED CHANNEL VIEW screen, the analog gain and digital gain of the head amp are both shown at all times.
- The HPF status of an external head amp such as the R-series is now shown in the GAIN/PATCH field of the SELECTED CHANNEL VIEW screen.
- Custom fader bank settings can now be stored/recalled individually for each scene.
- Black has been added as a channel color.
- The channel display now shows the channel on/off status in SENDS ON FADER mode.
- You can now select the attributes (latched or unlatched) of an external switch connected to a GPI IN port.
- It is now possible for Dante-related settings to be initialized when an error occurs on the Dante audio network.
- In the DCA/MUTE GROUP ASSIGN MODE popup window, you can now assign names to mute groups.
- In addition, the DCA group name and mute group name can be shown in this popup window.
- Aviom D800-Dante was added as a Dante device that can be detected and patched by the CL series.
For details, refer to the CL Firmware V1.70 supplementary manual.
Improvements
- The limitations on a Dante DEVICE LABEL have been relaxed.
- The default value is panned hard LR rather than CENTER when PAN MODE is set to PAN for a ST IN on the CL console.
- If 15 or more channels are registered in the DCA member indication of the OVERVIEW screen, you can now use the multifunction knobs of the Centralogic section to scroll the channels.
- A link indicator has been added to the CH LINK MODE popup window, making it easier to determine the currently-assigned link group.
- The cue monitor level range has been expanded to -30 dB -- +20 dB.
- In the EFFECT popup window, GEQ popup window, and PREMIUM RACK popup window, you can now use the [SEL] keys to switch channels.
- If TAP TEMPO is assigned to a user defined key, and you specify the BPM (tempo value) by pressing that key, the BPM value is now shown in a popup window.
Fixed bugs
- The Windows installer of Dante Firmware Update Manager included in the firmware 'V1.70' zip file does not work due to expiration of the Authenticode certificate. Therefore you cannot install Dante Firmware Update Manager on a Windows PC. We replaced it with the Dante Firmware Update Manager V1.4.7.1 that has fixed this issue. Please use this version for Dante updates. (This installer is compatible with Windows 7 or Windows 8 only.) Please note that Mac OS installer does not cause this problem.
- Solved a problem in which GPI IN ACTIVE IND. did not function correctly.
- Solved a problem in which the Balance value of a Mix or Matrix bus was restricted when the Stereo/Mono setting of a bus was switched by RECALL SAFE, FOCUS RECALL, or GLOBAL PASTE, and then switched again.
- Solved a problem in which executing CH MOVE would cause an incorrect PAN value for the MATRIX of a ST IN.
- Solved a problem in which the Post On insert on/off setting of a STEREO bus was not always correctly applied to MATRIX SEND 2--8.
- Solved a problem in which the warning message "DANTE RESOURCE OVERFLOW" inappropriately appeared when a Dante device was powered-on or when the patch was changed significantly.
- Solved a problem in which the Dante latency of the CL/R series unit differed from the setting of the actual unit, and would not go below 1.0 ms.
- Solved a problem in which the SYSTEM indicator would not go dark when an error message shown in the Rio field of the I/O DEVICE screen (SYSTEM indicator blinking or lit) switched to a warning message (SYNC indicator blinking or lit).
Known issue
- If the Dante Virtual Soundcard (DVS) is patched to the CL series device using Dante Controller, the patching may not be recalled correctly when the CL series device is restarted. Patch DVS again. In addition, when using a version of DVS for Windows that is older than v3.2.0, the patch after CH41 cannot be performed from CL series consoles.
- If the setup of REDUNDANT/DAISY CHAIN is changed while the Dante device is not connected with Dante PRIMARY/SECONDARY connectors, no audio signal will pass. Audio will once again pass after the Dante device is connected of after the power for CL has been restarted.
- Loading of a file created by version V1.15 or older will not include the mount information of Dante devices other than any connected Rios. It is the same when recalling a DANTE INPUT PATCH LIBRARY. Please reset MOUNT, PATCH, and DANTE INPUT PATCH Library data using V1.51 if necessary.
- In some specific network switching conditions, a CL-series device may link at 100Mbps instead of the expected 1Gbps. This could be due to the self-checking function of some switches. Use the Device Status screen of Dante Controller to check the link speed of each device. If it shows up as 10 or 100, then disconnect the network cable for this device and re-connect it to correct the problem. To avoid the problem in most cases, first allow the network switches to fully boot up before turning the power on for the CL-series devices.
NOTICE
- When setting up the latency in Dante Controller, and there is a discrepancy in latency with the transmit device or the receive device, the largest (slowest) latency setting becomes effective.
- The following device labels are used for detecting a SUPPORTED DEVICE.
- Y###-**********
# is a three-digit hexadecimal number containing the digits 0 - 9 and uppercase A - F (000 - FFF)
*indicates any desired character (alphabetical uppercase or lowercase, numerals, or -(hyphen) may be used)
Up to 31 characters including the 'Y' are supported.
For the R-series, make sure that the ID indicated by Y###- is not duplicated by any other R-series unit, even if it is a different size.
- Y###-**********
