Konstantinos Avgerinos

Konstantinos Avgerinos was born in Corfu. He started playing the trombone in the oldest band of the island the 'Old Philharmonic'. Among his teachers were J. Argalias, P. Koskinas, and D. Kafyris. He got his diploma with honors at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory with Professor Panagiotis Stephos.

He has attended classes with distinguished professors I. Roos, D. Wick, I. Bousfield, Ben van Dijk.

He has appeared as a soloist with the Athens State Orchestra and the Symphony Orchestra of Athens. He premiered in Greece the concerto for Trombone and Orchestra by Rimsky-Korsakov with the State Orchestra of Athens.

He was a member of the Orchestra of Colours and the Symphony Orchestra of the Municipality of Athens and since 1991 has been a permanent member of the Athens State Orchestra, where he has a leading position. He is also a founding member of the Brass Ensemble of the Athens State Orchestra, the Athens State Orchestra Brass quintet and 'Enodon' quintet. He teaches trombone at the Orfeio Conservatory and at the Philippos Nakas Conservatory. He has also taught trombone for many years at the International Brass Seminar in Kalavrita.
