Juan Pérez Floristán

Winner of the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the “Arthur Rubinstein” Piano Competition 2021 in Tel Aviv, the First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Santander Piano Competition "Paloma O'Shea" 2015, First Prize at the Berlin Steinway Competition 2015 and the Medal of the City of Seville, Juan Pérez Floristán is at the young age of 28 a benchmark among the new generations of Spanish and European musicians.

Tireless and young pianist, in a short time he has made his debut in some of the world's major venues, such as Royal Albert Hall (with the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra during the Proms Festival), Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall in London, Herkulessaal in Munich, Tonhalle in Zürich, St. Petersburg Philharmonic, Béla Bartók Hall and Liszt Academy in Budapest, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, Schloss Elmau, Auditorio Nacional of Madrid, Palau de la Musica de Barcelona and Auditori of Barcelona. He has also performed at festivals such as the Ruhr Klavier Festival, the Verbier Festival, the Sommets-Musicaux Festival in Gstaad (Switzerland), the Santander Festival, the Granada Festival, the Beethoven Festival in Warsaw

With a repertoire that includes more than 30 concerts for piano and orchestra and that ranges from Mozart to Crumb, he is a frequent guest with orchestras like the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, Monterey Symphony Orchestra, Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, National Spanish Orchestra, Malmö Symphony Orchestra, Royal Symphony Orchestra of Seville, Philharmonic Orchestra of Malaga, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra, Barcelona Orchestra, Gran Canaria Philharmonic Orchestra, Castilla y León Symphony Orchestra... He has also performed on fortepianos for solo recitals, as well as with orchestras like the Hofkapelle München.

His discography includes a CD with the London BBC Concert Orchestra, a solo CD for Naxos (with works by Liszt, Schumann and Beethoven) and two CDs with chamber works by Schubert, Shostakovich and Brahms. However, his first CD goes back to 2012, when he released his first CD, a live recording of his debut concert at the prestigious Ruhr Klavier Festival in Germany.

The list of conductors, soloists and chamber groups with whom he has collaborated includes Jesús López Cobos, David Afkham, Ian Bostridge, Juanjo Mena, Cuarteto Casals, Pablo González, Ben Gernon, Marc Soustrot, Leopold Hager, Lorenzo Viotti, Andrei Ionita, Pablo Ferrández, Kian Soltani, Palo Barragán, Dietrich Henschel, the Fine Arts Quartet.

He owes his training mainly to his mother, María Floristán, Galina Eguiazarova and Eldar Nebolsin. He has also received advice and lessons from international figures such as Luca Chiantore, Eberhardt Feltz, Claudio Martínez Mehner, Daniel Barenboim, Ferenc Rados, Menahem Pressler, Kirill Gerstein, Nelson Goerner, Stephen Kovacevich... Even so, especial mention in his training deserves Elisabeth Leonskaja, who, since meeting her proved not only to be an exceptional artist but also a person committed with the new generations of pianists in a full and totally disinterested way, since it has meant invaluable help both in his career and in his personal and artistic development.

His tours have taken him to Europe, Latinoamerica, the USA... having already performed in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, Slovenia, Sweden, USA, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru, UAE...

Since 2020 he helds a position as piano teacher at the Fundación Barenboin in Sevilla, and since 2021 he teaches “Rhythm applied to the performing arts” at the theatre school “La Colmena” in Sevilla.

He has been a collaborator during the season 2020/2021 for the radio show “La Ventana”, a primetime show of one of the major radio stations in Spain (Cadena Ser); and for “Hoy empieza todo”, a pop music show of the Spanish National Radio Station.

Since 2021 he is a Yamaha Artist.
