Albert Julià
Biography
Julià has a wide-ranging repertoire which includes all the most representative saxophone works from different periods, in addition to premieres of original works written especially for him.
Albert Julià started his musical career in the Liceo Conservatory of Music in Barcelona, where he obtained the advanced degree in saxophone. In order to continue his artistic and academic education, he moved to Paris where he studied at the Conservatoire National de Region de Cergy-Pontoise. He was awarded the gold medal "à l'unanimité" at the advanced level in saxophone and in chamber music.
He subsequently went to the University of Indiana (U.S.A.) where he studied the Artist Diploma (a post-doctoral level programme aimed at virtuoso performers of any instrument, for which between five and ten musicians are selected from a total number of 2000 applicants, in the specific case of Indiana University).
His considerable teaching experience means he is in demand for coaching and demonstrations in major music centres, both in Spain and abroad.
